My approach with my students is to teach the fundamentals in painting with oil and acrylic as well as drawing with pastel; to learn about composition, dark and light, colors, brushstrokes.
With that fundamental base, I give my students the freedom to explore mediums, subject matters and styles while guiding them to where they would like to go.

At the Railyard Art Studios, located in Croton Falls, I teach a class that is for all levels from beginner to advanced students. Each student can choose their own subject matter, as well as their own medium of either oil paints or soft pastels and will receive instruction tailored to their own needs and objectives.
